The expression אדמת עפר is probably a double reading, conflating two synonyms.204 “Dust” is used in parallelism to Sheol in Job 17:16*.205 Sheol is often called a land but ארץ rather than אדמה, for example, in Ezek 26:20*; 31:14*, 16*, 18*; 32:18*, 24*.206
